A virtual assistant is a highly skilled administrative professional that works from his or her own fully equipped office providing services to clients remotely using the tools available thanks to the World Wide Web.
Work assignments and correspondence are communicated through email, phone, fax, mail, instant messenger, FTP file sharing, remote access, old-fashioned snail mail, or courier. For the projects that require remote access, VAs utilize Internet-based services, such as GoToMyPC or LogMeIn. These secure programs provide a remote means of accessing work and transferring data as needed to get your project done. If most of this paragraph seemed like Greek to you, don’t worry – we speak perfect English. It is our job to help you whether you’re next door or across the Atlantic.
There is a misconception floating around out there that virtual assistants are pricier than regular employees. That is not true. While the hourly rate is higher, consider this: when working with a VA, you do not have to pay taxes or provide benefits that you would typically provide for a regular employee. (Think FICA, state unemployment, Social Security, health insurance, vacation time, sick days, 401(k), profit sharing, Christmas bonus, holiday pay, etc.) If you do the math, a virtual assistant’s wage ends up being far less than that of a traditional employee.
Not to mention that you don’t have to train virtual assistants—we already come skilled in a multitude of disciplines…consider us like an Assistant in a Box ready to go. Plus, how much would you have to shell out to maintain office space, a desk with a phone line, additional equipment, electricity, heat, air-conditioning, parking, and coffee for a regular employee? And don’t forget the most important point: we only charge for time spent on your project. When we take a coffee break, that’s on our time, not yours.
