Special Invitations from Dreamhost

If you’re in the market for a new web host, or just want to cut back expenses and save a lot of dough, then Signature Worx has a special invitation for you!

Dreamhost has given Signature Worx 5 Special Invitations to share. Now we wouldn’t be passing these special invitations along if we didn’t have first-hand experience with Dreamhost. Signature Worx hosts all our own domains with Dreamhost, as well many of our very own clients, for a total of 37 domains at the time of this post. We wouldn’t trust our sites with just anyone!

So here’s the deal. Normally you receive 500 GB disk storage and 5 TB monthly bandwidth with any plan from Dreamhost. However, if you use one of the following 5 invitation codes, Dreamhost will increase the normal plan features to 2 TB disk storage and 20 TB monthly bandwidth…at no additional cost of their regular plans. In addition, you can also receive $150 off a 5-year prepaid plan or $200 off a 10-year prepaid plan.

To take advantage of our invitations, just enter one of the following 12-digit codes into the “Promotional Code” field when you sign up for a plan. If the code you enter does not work, it means the invitation code has been used by someone else already, so try the next code on the list. I’m sure these won’t last long, so you’ll want to act quickly!

P.S. If all of the codes have been used, you can always take advantage of our Save $50 promotion code (WORX50) for any Dreamhost plan as well.

Aweber Meets Twitter

Don’t you just love it when one of your favorite services gets even better or just simply makes your life even easier? I sure do and that is exactly why I continue to love and use Aweber as my preferred email marketing and campaign service. For instance, when Aweber added blog broadcasting to its offering, I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. I immediately took advantage of this feature and love the sheer beauty of automatically sending my blog posts to subscribers. I don’t have to remember to do a thing!

So what has Aweber added to sweeten the pot today? How about the ability to Twitter your email newsletters.

So how does it work? When you send a new broadcast to your subscribers, Aweber will automatically update your Twitter status with the subject line of your email and a short link to an online version of your newsletter. Easy-peasy!

Just think of the possibilities!

Aweber + Twitter = Expanded reach to potential new subscribers

Now that is a pretty sweet feature and kuddos to Aweber for making their service not only better, but making our lives so much easier in the process. The best part though, of course, is being able to reach a whole new audience and potentially gain subscribers along the way. This is email marketing meets social networking without the fuss or extra effort!

If you’re still using one of those other email marketing campaign services, you should take another look at Aweber. If you’re already an Aweber user, then get Twittering in a whole new way!

Connie’s email marketing tip: Don’t forget to include information in your email campaigns on how to subscribe to your newsletter or email list. Sure you’re sending it to people who have already subscribed, but what if they forward your newsletter on to a friend or colleague who might be interested in subscribing as well? This especially comes into play if you plan to use this new Twitter feature with Aweber. If people are seeing your newsletter that aren’t subscribers, then be sure to make it easy for them to subscribe and watch your list grow!

Queen Bee or Failed Queen?

My good friend, Jaime Lee Mann, wrote a fabulous blog post a few months ago that I apparently missed…along with the rest of the world because it got zero comments. Everyone must have been at the beach that day!

If you’re a solo entrepreneur struggling to make your business work or you’re still determined to do it all yourself, knowing you are not making any headway, then this is the perfect article for you. At Signature Worx, this is the one topic we try to educate our potential clients on every day…hence our tagline: Going solo was the plan. Doing it ALL was not.

I know you’ve heard it all before - outsource, delegate, hire help, etc. - but for some reason you just aren’t listening or maybe you still don’t get it. Jaime explains it perfectly in her blog post and it certainly deserves a read.

So are you going to start acting like the Queen Bee and possess a buzzing hive or are you going to doom your beehive [business] to fail?

Post your thoughts and tell us which tasks you love to delegate to your worker bees!

The Suckiest Logo Contest is Open

Does your logo suck?

We won’t point fingers-you know who you are. When you started your business, you decided to cut corners in what you thought were the less important areas of your start up. Maybe you created your own logo in Microsoft Word, bought a canned logo template, or downloaded a freebie. Now that you’ve been in business for a while, you cringe when you see your less-than-professional logo staring back at you from your website, letterhead and business cards. You’re green with logo envy when you see your competitors’ designs.

Having a crude-looking logo is like showing up at an important networking event with no shoes on. You may be wearing a snazzy suit and be sporting an irresistible personality, but who is going to take you seriously? Like it or not, when people see your brand for the first time, they are judging you. If they don’t like what they see, they may never take the opportunity to find out how great your product or service is.

Signature Worx has a mission: to make the business world more attractive, one brand at a time. In celebration of the launch of our new websites and services, we are holding an exciting contest.

This is big, people! We are going to give someone a brand new professionally designed logo-for free.

All you have to do is submit your current, crappy logo. Once all submissions have been received, we will post them to our blog where our readers will snicker and vote on which one they think is the worst logo in the world. Well, that might be an exaggeration, but it is our readers that will decide which logo is the most deserving of being made over.

The worst logo (as decided by our readers) will be ditched for a completely new, 100% custom-designed Signature Logo. But there’s more. We realize that re-branding your business can get expensive. Even if you get your fancy new logo for free, you’ll need new business cards, stationery, maybe a new brochure, and possibly a better website to match your spanking new brand. Plus, you should be compensated for having been mocked by your peers after submitting your ugly logo. Therefore, the winner of the Suckiest Logo Contest will also receive their choice of the following:

Any business owner with an exceptionally bad logo can enter. The deadline for submissions is October 29. So if you have friends, colleagues or clients who need a brand boost, then be sure to send them here to submit their sucky logo. To submit your own embarrassing logo, visit http://signatureworx.logocontest.sgizmo.com to post your entry before October 29th.

What needs to be included in your submission?

What items are deemed as acceptable?

If you aren’t brave enough to submit your own logo, or if you (or that friend) might be in the market for some other design solutions we offer, visit our new websites, Signature Worx Designs and Signature Worx Marketing. We have a ton of packages you may be interested in. And don’t forget to sign up for our Signature Specials newsletter. Who knows what we’ll think up next!
