Things to Come: The Future of Signature Worx
Posted By Connie McVicker On July 24, 2008 @ 10:28 am In Business & Startup | 2 Comments
Wow! The summer has gone by so quickly, and although it isn’t over just yet, I feel the end looming with the arrival of my daughter’s preschool registration materials. The fact that she is even entering preschool still blows my mind.
We’ve had a great summer, and we’ve done all the typical summer things—vacationing at the beach, traveling to see my niece’s high school graduation, visiting with family, hanging out at the pool, and boating with friends on “The Rez.” (That’s the local reservoir for those of you who are non-Mississippians.)
Of course, the summer has not been all fun and games, and business certainly goes on. But there has been one big difference for me and my business over the past couple of months that has been very enlightening, and honestly, enjoyable. Besides making a commitment to myself and my family to start taking more time off, I made another commitment to totally restructure my business this summer.
Now, before any of my loyal followers begin to panic—don’t. It was simply time to make my business start working for me rather than the other way around. All you solo entrepreneurs out there know exactly what I’m talking about! Was there anything wrong with my business? Not really. But it simply wasn’t in sync with my vision. In my defense, since I began Signature Worx, my business model has changed several times as I’ve grown in both clients and knowledge.
Have you ever used the expression “my eyes were bigger than my stomach” when you ate way more than your little old tummy could (or should) handle? Well, in this analogy, my stomach represents my business model. My vision is so much bigger than my previous business model could handle, and it simply did not have any room to grow unless I took action and changed it.
I’ve spent countless hours (and many more to come) preparing for our re-launch, which includes new policies, processes, designs, services, packages—but most importantly—a real, live, smokin’ hot team. While I’ve technically had a multi-VA company with a handful of team members for more than a year now, this summer I kicked it up a few notches and searched high and low for just the right people. As of right now, I have 17 team members, and I will quite possibly be adding to that number within a couple of months.
So, what does this mean for you? Actually, some pretty great things. Within the next month, Signature Worx will be unveiling a new…well…everything! Our brand is certainly the same; now it’s just surrounded by a new design. Of course, the new design doesn’t even scratch the surface given all the new things we’ll be unleashing and offering.
I can’t wait to share all that we’ve been working on, and I hope that you’ll be as excited as we are come mid-August!
